The Last Night of Ballyhoo Playing through October 11
THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, in December of 1939. Gone with the Wind is having its world premiere, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jews are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. Especially concerned is the Freitag family: bachelor Adolph, his widowed sister, Beulah (Boo) Levy, and their also widowed sister-in-law, Reba. Boo is determined to have her dreamy, unpopular
daughter, Lala, attend Ballyhoo, believing it will be Lala's last chance to find a socially acceptable husband. Playing at the Tower Theater in Roseville.

The Visit October 25 through November 1
The play centers on the fictional Central-Europea
n town of Güllen, which was always formerly a humdrum center of culture but has in the past few decades decayed into bankruptcy. When the play opens, the town is preparing a celebration of the arrival of Claire Zachanassian, a former resident who had since attained an incredibly great fortune and is coming back to visit. She arrives with her fiancé and she announces the true reason she has come to visit: when she was young she was impregnated by her boyfriend Alfred Ill,
who, at the paternity suit, denied the charges and bribed two drunks to testify that they had slept with Claire, and she was shamed out of the town and eventually forced into prostitution. Now that she has become rich, she will give the town half of a million, and half a million divided among the citizens, if they kill Alfred Ill, who over the years became one of Güllen's most popular townspeople. Playing at the Tower Theater in Roseville.

The Sound of Music October 31- November 23
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religous life, she is depatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon, they discover that
Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in the navy. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in theatre.
