I thought I would title my piece Concierge compliments, however, the more I think about it compliments aren't really what I have in mind for John's Incredible Pizza Co. However, if you ask my 3 ½ year old daughter, she'll quickly disagree. Fortunately, my daughter was oblivious to my frustrations; isn't it about her anyhow? That said, I give John's Incredible Pizza Co. 3 stars.
What I liked was the fact that guests can hold their table for up to 2 hours. Granted, the seating areas are fairly far from the game floor, but it was nice to know we could go back, get a drink and relax for a moment. The eating rooms are themed, we sat in the Looney Toon room, there were TV's showing cartoons and it was bright and lively. We went on a very busy night and I was impressed
that the staff was able to keep everything clean and cleared. The food was extremely kid friendly featuring cheeseburger pizza and macaroni and cheese pizza, plus a simple make-your-own pasta bar! The salad bar however, was standard, but much appreciated by the adults. Although incredibly kid friendly the food, I have to say, was not that great. The pizza toppings were sparse and the pasta sauces lacked the flavor you would find at a standard Italian restaurant.
I did not enjoy waiting in a wrap around line, much like a twenty minute wait for a ride at an amusement park. The credits for the games are on credit card sized cards that the kids swipe at each game. This was far too difficult for my daughter to figure out and she became frustrated when help was required at each and every game. It is a great concept, but it is pretty difficult for 3 ½ year olds to figure out which side the reveals the bar code. I do admit coins are a pain to carry around,
but we dropped and misplaced our card at least twice during our visit; not to mention they charge an additional fee to have the credits split between multiple cards!
In the end, I'm very glad we went and experienced it. My daughter is still talking about it and wants desperately to go back. The highlight of the night was watching her run from the games to the rides and back again. She had an absolute ball.
Be prepared! A family of 3 will pay $55.00 to eat and play!
